The free guide

Clean your own windows. Seriously.

Everything below is exactly what we'd tell a neighbor over the fence — ranked from easiest to 'maybe call us.'

  1. The solution is embarrassingly simple

    Difficulty

A squirt of dish soap in a bucket of cool water — that's the whole recipe, and it's what most pros use for routine cleans. The fancy part of our setup isn't chemicals, it's water: we run RODI-purified water through our poles because it has zero dissolved minerals, so it dries invisible. Tap water is what leaves those chalky spots.

Pro note: If glass looks cloudy right after it dries, blame minerals in the water — not your technique.

  2. Squeegee like you mean it

    Difficulty

Soap the glass with a scrubber, then pull the squeegee in one continuous motion — start in a top corner and work down in an overlapping fan pattern. Wipe the rubber blade with a lint-free towel between every pass, and finish the edges with a dry microfiber. Streaks come from exactly two things: a dirty blade, or stopping mid-pull.

Pro note: A fresh rubber blade costs about four bucks and fixes more streaks than anything on the cleaning aisle.

  3. Screens and tracks — the part everyone skips

    Difficulty

Pop the screens out, brush off the dry dust first, then wash them with the same soapy water, rinse, and let them dry completely before they go back in — a damp screen collects dust like a lint roller. For the tracks: vacuum out the crumbs, then chase the corners with a damp cloth and an old toothbrush.

Pro note: Screens and tracks are included in our Elite clean — the 'never think about this again' option.

  4. Hard-water stains are a different beast

    Difficulty

Those white rings near sprinkler spray aren't dirt — they're minerals bonding to the glass. Fresh spots sometimes give up to white vinegar and a non-scratch pad. Older ones laugh at everything under your sink, and scrubbing harder with the wrong pad can scratch or permanently etch the glass. Know when to stop.

Pro note: Hard-water removal is included in the Elite clean. We bring compounds that lift minerals without hurting the finish.

  5. The second story (please read this one)

    Difficulty

If you're set on it: use a ladder rated for your weight plus gear, dry level ground, the 4-to-1 lean rule, a spotter, and never reach past your belt buckle — move the ladder instead. Honestly, though, this is where we stop joking. A fall from height is the one part of this job that can wreck a whole year of your life.

Pro note: We clean second- and third-story glass from the ground with a 40-ft water-fed pole. High windows are literally why we bought it.

We're not saying don't. We're saying we already own the ladder — and the insurance.

Emergency rooms see a steady stream of ladder falls every year, and second-story windows are how a free Saturday turns expensive. If your glass is past the first floor, at least read tip five before you climb.

The honest math

What's your Saturday actually worth?

Just a recommendation... If your windows and siding are needing some spring cleaning, contact Luke! He took care of us this week and did a great job! He power washed one day and cleaned windows the next. He watched the weather and planned the best days to work. Great job and great young man to hire!

Logan came to wash my windows before a graduation party. He did a super job! We were so busy getting ready for the party, I forgot to take before and after pictures. I’m so bummed because they were so clear! Our back sliders looked almost invisible. Birds started flying into it. The outside is still clean even with all the rain. The inside is still good as well, but we do have three dogs with wet noses… 10/10 would recommend. He is awesome!!

FOUND A GREAT WINDOW CLEANER. Tanner Bros Windows did our home today. They use a deionized water process, no soapy water, and its residue. One of the big guys attempted twice to do our windows, and they ended up streaked and not clean. Tanner Bros Windows spent a lot of time and did the windows, tracks, and screens. The deionized water process is amazing. Call Luke 314-702-0102. We originally obtained his name from NextDoor. Price is reasonable.
